SAE’s grant writing process includes designing the program, conducting the needs assessment, highlighting innovative treatment strategies and evidence based practices that are culturally relevant to the target population, identifying appropriate partner organizations, designing the evaluation, and conducting an objective final review and edit of the application, prior to submission, to ensure it adheres to the RFP and is free of errors.

Grant Writing Process Includes

  • Develop timeframes for program planning, writing, and draft review
  • Strategically determine the best target population and program plan for your agency in terms of service gaps, programming strengths, organizational needs, and the funder’s priorities.
    • Discussion of agency plans and goals for the grant;
    • Identification of the most compelling target population;
    • Determination of the best evidence to support the needs of the targeted population (the key issues to be explored in the literature and the specific agency data required);
    • Determination of the best evidence-based practices to leverage existing capacity, build on needs, and ensure a feasible implementation plan;
    • Exploration of the implementation and programming features required;
    • Identification of organizational strengths that will “stand out” among competitors. (SAE’s objective perspective and knowledge about current practices across sectors can provide a helpful perspective).
    • Discussion of evaluation plans to ensure maximum points. SAE can provide third party evaluation; consultation with an SAE evaluator is available.
